Caran d’Ache Pablo are professional-quality coloured pencils designed for artists, illustrators and creatives looking for precision, rich colour and excellent control. Their highly pigmented cores deliver clean, dense colour with excellent covering power while holding a fine point well, making them suitable for both detailed drawing and smooth layers of colour.
The range consists of 120 permanent colours made with carefully selected pigments and varying degrees of lightfastness. Their dry, water-resistant cores provide smooth application with minimal powder and are ideal for layering, blending, gradations, shading and precise line work.
Features:
- 120 colours with a high pigment concentration and rich colour intensity.
- Excellent covering power and strong colour performance, even on darker surfaces.
- Dry, water-resistant cores suitable for permanent coloured pencil techniques.
- Ø3.8mm leads with good break resistance and excellent point retention for precise lines and fine details.
- Ideal for layering, cross-hatching, shading, gradations and blending.
- The controlled laydown allows for crisp edges and detailed drawing without excessive waxy build-up.
- Suitable for a variety of surfaces including smooth or textured paper, cardboard, wood and photographs.
- Suitable for mixed-media techniques and can be combined with Caran d’Ache Supracolor Soft Aquarelle water-soluble pencils and Neocolor wax-oil pastels.
- Lightfastness rated from ★ to ★★★ depending on the individual colour and according to the Blue Wool Scale: ★ good, ★★ very good and ★★★ excellent.
- Hexagonal barrels made from premium FSC™-certified cedar wood, with colour-finished exteriors for easy shade identification.
- Each pencil is marked with its colour name and number for easy identification and replacement.
- Made in Switzerland.
Combining precision, covering power and controlled colour application, Pablo pencils are particularly well suited to illustration, realistic drawing, portraiture, botanical art and other techniques requiring crisp details and multiple layers of colour.
