  • Cyanotype is the “original” solar printing process, one of the first photographic techniques. Discovered in 1842 and distinguished by the production of rich Prussian blue monochrome prints, cyanotype was popular until the 20th century as an inexpensive method of reproducing photographs, documents, maps and plans (hence the enduring architectural term “blueprints”) and famously for making prints of biological specimens in the field (“photograms”).
  • Harness the power of the sun to make detailed prints from virtually any object that casts a shadow: tools, toys, plants, leaves, stones, sand, string, lace, etc.
  • Simply place the object on the sensitised surface and expose it to sunlight (UV).
  • Use a digitally printed photographic negative (an inverted black-and-white photo printed on a transparent sheet) instead of an object to create full-resolution photographs on paper or fabric.
  • Ideal for photographers, mixed media artists, printmakers, children and more, the cyanotype process is easy, fast, magical and fun.
  • Capture the nuances of each shadow - a fun group activity for all ages!
  • Suitable for any natural fibre/porous surface, including cotton, linen, silk, canvas, wool, paper, wood, leather etc.
  • The package contains 10 cotton and synthetic satin cyanotype sheets that are already cyanotype sensitized and ready to use.
Set Includes: - Part A - Potassium Ferricyanide 0.8 oz/23.2 g - Part B - Ferric Ammonium Citrate 1.9 oz/54.4 g intructions in English.
