Important Information
  • Concentrated dye for synthetic fabrics in a convenient self-dissolving packet, specially formulated for polyester, nylon and other synthetic materials, without the mess associated with traditional powdered dyes.
  • Suitable for 100% polyester, nylon, as well as many synthetic materials such as acrylics, thermoplastics and certain plastic surfaces. Produces vibrant, saturated and long-lasting colors with excellent penetration into synthetic fibers.
  • Each package (14 g) is sufficient to dye approximately 1 to 1.3 kg of dry fabric. The final shade depends on the material composition, water temperature and the amount of time the fabric remains in the dye bath.
  • For best results, the stovetop dyeing method is recommended, as polyester requires high temperatures for proper color absorption. The dyeing process is carried out at temperatures up to approximately 100°C, which are safe for most synthetic fabrics.
  • For blended fabrics, iDye Poly colors only the synthetic portion of the material. For complete color coverage on blends of natural and synthetic fibers, it can be combined with the corresponding iDye for Natural Fabrics.
  • Using different colors of iDye Poly and iDye for Natural Fabrics simultaneously allows the creation of two-tone, heathered and unique color effects, ideal for textile art, garment restoration and creative fabric upcycling.
  • Available in 16 vibrant colors. Use in a well-ventilated area during the dyeing process.

Brief instructions for use (read the complete instructions included with the product for more details and watch the related video below).

Dyeing method for 100% polyester and nylon

  • Use a stainless steel or enamel pot that is not intended for food preparation.
  • Fill with enough warm water for the fabric to move freely and heat over high heat.
  • Add the self-dissolving iDye Poly packet and optionally the iDye Color Intensifier, stirring until fully dispersed in the water. (The Color Intensifier acts as an "accelerator" that helps the fibers open up and absorb more dye. It is especially useful if: 1. You are dyeing difficult synthetic fabrics such as acrylics or blends containing synthetic fibers that are known to resist dyeing. 2. You want to achieve the maximum possible color intensity.)
  • Place the pre-wetted fabric into the pot and maintain the temperature close to boiling (95-100°C) for approximately 30 to 60 minutes, stirring regularly.
  • The longer the fabric remains in the pot, the deeper and more intense the final color will be.
  • Carefully remove the fabric, rinse with cold water and wash with a mild detergent before allowing it to dry.

For blended fabrics

  • iDye Poly colors only the synthetic fibers of the fabric.
  • For fabrics containing 65% or more synthetic fibers, iDye Poly alone is usually sufficient.
  • For complete and even coverage on natural/synthetic blends, use iDye Poly together with iDye for Natural Fabrics in the same dye bath.
  • You can use two different colors simultaneously to create unique two-tone or heathered effects.
  • After dyeing, wash the fabric in cold water using a mild detergent.

Notes

  • Results may vary depending on fabric composition, temperature and dyeing time.
  • Always test on a small sample before proceeding with the final project.
  • Do not use the dye on materials that may deform or melt at temperatures approaching 100°C.
  • Use the product in a well-ventilated area.
