- Sharpening is done in 2 steps. In hole No1 the sharpener shapes the wood first, in hole No2 the tip of the pencil is shaped. The automatic brake prevents overshaping.

- Dynamic Torsion Action - Kum is the only manufacturer worldwide to equip their sharpeners with a curved knife. Due to the curved knife, the knife edges are under constant tension and are not lifted by the pressure during sharpening. This prevents the pen tip from "springing out“ or tearing. In addition, the pressure against the screw prevents it from loosening.
