Lascaux Acrylic Adhesive 498 HV is a professional acrylic adhesive for conservation, restoration, mounting and marouflage. It is suitable for paper, canvas and textiles and can be used on a wide range of supports.
- Suitable for paper, board, canvas and textiles.
- Can be used on wood, paper, cardboard, plaster, concrete, glass, acrylic glass and aluminium.
- Ideal for marouflage, canvas lining, laminating, collage and mounting paper or textiles onto rigid supports.
- Water-thinnable while wet.
- Becomes insoluble in water after drying.
- Dries to a clear, elastic and non-tacky layer.
- Offers high strength and excellent flexibility, allowing the bond to accommodate small movements of the support.
- Lightfast and age-resistant, suitable for professional conservation and restoration work.
- Can be used for wet application or by reactivating the dried adhesive, depending on the technique.
- After drying, it remains soluble in acetone, ethanol, toluene and xylene.
- Insoluble in white spirit.
- pH: 8-9.
- Glass transition temperature (Tg): approx. 13°C.
- Elongation at break: approx. 400%.
- Minimum film-forming temperature: approx. 5°C.
- Minimum heat-sealing temperature: approx. 68-76°C.
Application: Apply a thin, even layer to the surfaces to be bonded. The adhesive can be used wet or allowed to dry and reactivated later, depending on the application.
Note: Once dry, the adhesive is not water-reversible. For valuable or particularly sensitive works, testing before final application is recommended.
