- Powertex is a ready-to-use, water-based universal medium and fabric hardener. It penetrates absorbent materials and hardens them as it dries, allowing you to create stable three-dimensional forms, folds and textured surfaces.
- Suitable for sculpture, mixed media, textured paintings, decorative objects and jewellery making. It can also be used as a painting medium and adhesive in a wide variety of creative applications.
- It can be used with fabric, paper, cardboard, papier mache, leather, wood, ceramics, stone and concrete, as well as many other absorbent materials. Natural and porous materials are recommended for impregnation and hardening. It is not suitable for direct adhesion to plastic surfaces.
- For fabric hardening, stir the Powertex well, thoroughly saturate the fabric and squeeze out the excess medium before shaping it over an armature or work surface. It air-dries naturally to form a very hard surface.
- It can be combined with sand and other modelling materials to create raised and coarse textures. With specialised additives such as Stone Art and Easy3Dflex, you can also create modelling pastes, air-drying clay, pronounced textures and crackle effects.
- With Stone Art, start by mixing equal amounts of Powertex and Stone Art, then gradually add more powder until you obtain a smooth, workable, air-drying clay that no longer sticks to your fingers.
- With Easy3Dflex, for a thick texture paste and pronounced crackle effects, the recommended starting ratio is 1 part Powertex to 3 parts Easy3Dflex, with a small amount of water depending on the desired consistency. Without water, the same basic ratio can be used to create a pliable modelling clay.
- For artwork intended for outdoor use, allow it to cure completely indoors for at least 3 weeks before exposing it to weather conditions. Where additional surface or pigment protection is required, finish with a suitable Powertex protective varnish.
- Minimum application temperature: 10°C. Liquid Powertex must be protected from frost and should not be stored or transported below 0°C.
