- One side is polished and protected with a removable adhesive film, helping prevent scratches and oxidation before plate preparation.
- Unpolished surfaces can be prepared using steel wool and very fine sandpaper (such as 1200 grit), while degreasing with calcium carbonate or a suitable cleaner is recommended for improved varnish adhesion and cleaner etching.
- When working with acids, it is recommended to apply a stop-out or anti-acid varnish to the back of the plate for additional protection and safer processing.
